The first week [May 12th to the 19th, 2007] of our trip spent in St. Orens Pouy Petit, which is located in the Gers district of Midi-Pyrennees, at a private cottage called La Petite Maison located just outside the walled town. Then we traveled to Nice and stopped in Carcassonne [May 19th, 2007], a walled city in the south of France. Spent two days in Nice, France [May 19th to 21st, 2007]. Couldn’t believe there is no sand on the beach. Our two days actually turned into a day and a half since we got in very late on Saturday night. The next day we took a drive from Nice along the coast up to Monte Carlo. We drove through the Vellefranche-sur-Mer area along the French Riviera and found it to be one of the prettiest areas of the whole trip. Finished up the trip by driving to Cannes and then on to St. Tropez where we met some friends who live on The World cruise ship. We were able to go on board for a visit which included a tour of the ship and lunch. It was a great way to finish a very relaxing trip. See the World Cruise ship album.
