Horsemanship Clinic

February 6th, 7th, 8th, 2009

Kerry Kuhn of Coats, KS, winner of 2008 Trainer Challenge at Paso Robles Equine Experience came out to the Valley and put on a three-day horsemanship clinic at our neighbor’s home. This is the third clinic put on by Kerry that we have attended and as usual it was very informative. He has a great way of teaching and working with horses. His clinics are usually no more than ten riders which allows him to give individual instruction to each rider.

The pictures below were taken at the clinic and are mostly of our horses. Kerry rode JD and Betz rode Ritzie. There are some pictures, slightly out of focus, showing Kerry riding JD without the benefit of either a bridle or halter. He uses his legs and a stick, without striking him, to guide JD around the arena. It was pretty neat to watch.

Kerry is planning another three-day clinic to be held in the Valley during the month of October and we will attend.
